Troop Elections:

Remember - according to OA rules, the Chapter Elections Team must make a visit for the
Troop elections into the OA is reliant on your eligibility. To be eligible for Membership in the Order of the Arrow, a Boy Scout or Varsity Scout must:
- Be registered in the Occoneechee Council, BSA.
- Have the approval of his unit leader prior to election. The Unit Leader must certify his scout spirit. The unit leader must certify that the nominee meets all of the specific requirements at the time of election.
- Not yet have reached his 21st Birthday.
- Hold the Rank of First Class Scout as a Minimum.
- Have experienced 15 days and nights of Boy Scout Camping during the two year period prior to election. The 15 days and nights must include one (1) but no more than one (1) long-term camp consisting of six consecutive days and five nights of resident camping, approved and under the auspices and standards of the Boy Scouts of America. The balance of the camping must be overnight, weekeind, or other short-term camping opportunities.
- Candidates for youth membership are elected by other youth members within their Troop in accordance with the policies set forth by the National OA committee.
Chapter Elections:
Chapter elections are performed once a year at one of the scheduled meetings. Currently, the chapter meets every third Thursday of the month at the Garner United Methodist Church in Garner, NC.
